About time a boy band emerges brazen enough to call themselves THE BOYZ. This 11-member IST Entertainment K-pop group debuted in 2017 and are best known for their live performance, but that doesn’t mean their songs should go uncelebrated: BE AWAKE, their eighth mini album, is stacked with robust multi-part harmonies. The believable, crush-worthy vocal delivery of “Yummy, yummy/In my tummy” on “Blah Blah” sits in total opposition to the trap detours on the soulful R&B of “Savior” and the acoustic, dreamy folk of “Horizon”. There’s no danger of dozing off.
