Born Rodney Basil Price, Bounty Killer started DJing for his father's sound system when he was barely a teenager. His relentless swagger was nurtured by the dog-eat-dog competition of the dancehall scene. Shot at age 14, he adopted his moniker while recovering in a Kingston hospital. Beenie Man became his primary rival throughout the '90s, each toaster pushing the other to new heights of creativity and intensity. But in America, no toaster was more beloved than The Warlord, whose coarse flow brought a flash of ghetto intensity to tunes by like Wu-Tang Clan, Swizz Beats and No Doubt.
