Casey Luong began tinkering in GarageBand as a teenager, crafting a delicate jigsaw of raw hip-hop beats, guitar samples and smooth R&B vocals. Taking on the alias keshi, the American artist began sharing his music online and for a while he straddled two worlds, working as a nurse while his tunes clocked up millions of streams. In 2019 he took a chance and dived into music full-time, signing with Island Records. This gave him a bigger platform to demonstrate his ability to translate pathos into poetry on songs like “drunk”, with its dreamy longing, and the bittersweet honesty of “more”.
