Among the artists who directly contributed to Peso Pluma’s rise to stardom, Jasiel Nuñez stands out. A contributor both as songwriter and guest vocalist on GÉNESIS and ÉXODO, the Guadalajara native increasingly saw his profile as an artist grow through collaborative singles with the likes of Luis R Conriquez, Adriel Favela and DannyLux. On LA ODISEA, he collects some of those previously released tracks alongside a batch of new material for a roughly hour-long set divided into halves. The first side contains songs in line with his biggest moments to date, namely the Peso Pluma team-ups “EN MI MUNDO” and “AMIRI”, the latter with Tito Double P as well. Yet he branches out into Afrobeats territory on “PASAPORTE” and explores hip-hop vibes with Alemán on “BB FIRST CLASS”. On the back half, Nuñez opens with the augmented sad sierreño of “NOCHES FRÍAS” before settling into a string of sombre numbers about heartbreak. Eslabon Armado commiserate on “NO VOY A ODIARTE”, while Ramon Vega echoes his own romantic devastations on “TUS INTENCIONES”.
