For Eslabon Armado and its frontman Pedro Tovar, 2020’s Tu Veneno Mortal marked the beginning of the group’s status as one of the most popular young acts in contemporary música Mexicana. The relatability of that album’s themes and the immediacy of the singer’s vocals thrust songs like “Baby” and “Con Tus Besos” into the soundtrack of their fans’ lives. After two additional album efforts last year, the excellent pairing of Vibras de Noche and Corta Venas, a second volume of their breakout project now emerges. Those who’ve attentively followed their rise will find instant gratification (and quite a few emotional moments) via standout tracks like the rapturous “La Vibra Pegó” and the doleful “Regresa Mami”. On “No Dudes de Ti” and “Cuando Tú Me Miras”, Tovar genuinely evokes the sensitive romantic, offering encouragement amid its heart-on-sleeve sentimentality.
