Over the course of two excellent full-lengths (2008’s A Mouthful and 2011’s Both Ways Open Jaws), multi-instrumentalist Dan Levy and frontwoman Olivia Merilahti boasted a uniquely playful brand of folk-infused, playground-ready indie pop. On The Dø's third full-length album, Shake Shook Shaken, the Finnish-French duo deliver a sumptuous collection of synth-based beauty that's at once disarming and danceable. Atop a plush and pristine guitar arrangement, Merilahti gifts “Trustful Hands” with a lovely, lullaby-like vocal turn. Elsewhere, “Lick My Wounds” is a stunner whose synths and soaring chorus recall The Knife at their most resplendent.
