One of the finest pianists of our time presents a glorious coupling of two late and great Mozart piano concertos—including the magnificent final one, No. 27. Anderszewski treats these masterpieces as chamber music and, with an orchestra as responsive and imaginative as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, he is in perfect company. No. 25 dances and sings with elegance, but also with an awareness of the work’s light and shade. In No. 27, the poise and fantasy complement the darker elements. This is top-class Mozart-playing and a total joy.
