Having emerged as one of the standout features on Bad Bunny’s perreo showcase YHLQMDLG, Mora pressed on with his impressive debut, Primer Día de Clases, and its decidedly clubbier follow-up, MICRODOSIS. For his second album of 2022, the Puerto Rican singer embraces the dance floor in an even bigger way. As the name suggests, PARAÍSO welcomes listeners to paradise, or at least the artist’s hedonistic vision of it. Things aren’t always rosy here, as demonstrated by the difficulties presented on “COSITAS” with paopao, yet he’s undeniably having the time of his life. His escapades are set to reggaetón rhythms as well as other dance-floor styles, the latter represented by the techno thump of “EN LA ORILLA” and the feverishly paced pair “CALENTÓN” and “MODELITO” with YOVNGCHIMI. His pop sensibilities are heightened here as well, as evidenced by the house swing of “EIVISSA” with Danny Ocean.
