Actively recording since 1976, Israel Vibration has served up traditional roots reggae for more than 30 years. Reggae Knights is the group’s first new album since 2007's Stamina and the 22nd of its lengthy but always consistent career. Recorded at Jimmy Cliff's Sun Power Studios and mixed by Christopher Daley, it features exceptional instrumentation from longtime crew Roots Radic, plus the inimitable Robbie Shakespeare on bass, a top-notch horn section, and the Black Soil Band (best known for its work with Taurus Riley). As always, Wiss and Skelly's poignant vocals are deeply spiritual and always positive, whether singing about the almighty ("My Master's Will") or their current residence ("New York City") or philosophizing on everyday life ("Take It Slow"). Rock-solid from beginning to end, it includes a revisit of their early hit single "Bad Intention" and the surprisingly dancehall-influenced closer "Original Gangster."
