Since 1999 marks Ghaatak’s first release via Kalamkaar, a label associated with Indian rap heavyweight Raftaar. It’s a release on which the New Delhi hip-hop artist imprints his style of fiery, rapid vocals and hyperlocal themes, making no qualms about the culture he came from. Gang rivalries abound in his hometown of Meerut, which he hypes up on “Revolver”. On the trap tune “K.V. Wala Launda”, the rapper discusses his habits and reputation over skittering beats by producer Xplicit.
