Culled from outtakes, an early Factory comp, and the band's fateful final gig, Still arrived a year and a half after Ian Curtis' death, a bittersweet epilogue to Joy Division's brief career and a powerful reminder of their brilliance. Unreleased songs from Unknown Pleasures sessions, like the now-classic "Exercise One," captured their stark, alien magnetism, while the Birmingham live set preserved their onstage fury for posterity (never mind the tape hiss). And a woozy cover of The Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray" is both gripping and terrifying in its narcotic abandon.
