When Mangaluru-raised singer-songwriter Frizell D’souza released her heartfelt originals online early the pandemic, little did she know the tracks would catapult her to instant stardom. But they did and the artist quickly established herself as a contemporary purveyor of yearning songcraft, her acoustic-centred ballads striking empathetic chords during uncertain times. On the title track of this debut EP, the troubadour—accompanied by her gently strummed guitar—slips astute lyricism into a hushed melody. Another highlight is “Just As Easily”, the record’s tranquil closer about falling back in love.
