To call Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer a stalwart of the Indian metal scene would be an understatement. With his band Demonic Resurrection, Demonstealer has been integral to the meteoric rise of metal’s popularity in the country since the turn of the millennium. On The Holocene Termination, he enlists a coven of melodeath mavens from behemothic bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse, Marduk and Six Feet Under. Precise staccato snares are the heady result of Ryabchenko’s drumming prowess on the title track, while “An Epoch of Degradation” showcases modern growling at its finest.
