With his chillwave R&B sound, Latin star A.CHAL puts his own spin on classic reggaetón. • Born in Peru and raised largely in Queens, New York, A.CHAL was a rock fan before he discovered hip-hop. Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and Pharrell Williams rank among his major influences. • A.CHAL’s 2017 breakout single “Love N Hennessey” spawned a remix featuring reggaetón star Nicky Jam and rapper 2 Chainz. • The six-track 2018 EP EXOTIGAZ marked A.CHAL’s first release as an Epic Records signee. • In 2018, A.CHAL launched the clothing line Ropa Gaz with his brother and some friends.
