About Brous One
Brous One is a prolific Chilean rapper and producer based in Germany. He's remixed for other MCs like Audio88, SmooVth, and Sylabil Spill, and his own recordings and compilation appearances have made him an in-demand talent in Europe and South America. Born in Santiago de Chile in 1990, he became interested in beatmaking at the age of 13. His 2011 debut single, "Di Ay Ti Sí," was a collaboration with German rapper Retrogott, and brought Brous One to the attention of German hip-hop fans. His debut solo album as a producer, Un Momento en el Tiempo, a year later, featured collaborations with both Chilean and German rappers including Matiah Chinaski, Retrogott, and Hulk Hodn. He toured Germany for the first time in 2013 and issued three collaborative albums: Bombentest (Vinyl Digital), with German MC Dennis Da Menace; Mote con Huesillos (ENTBS), with Retrogott and Elba Surita (Vinyl Digital), and raps by Chilean writer Matiah Chinaski, and Beats, Beer & BBQ. While in Germany, Brous One met his future wife, German artist Veronika Wünsch, and toured a number of important European cities outside Germany including Vienna and Basel. Brous One founded and released the first volume in his beat collection series entitled Cinta de Ritmos. His second album as a solo producer, Beats, Beer & BBQ, for Vinyl Digital, was released in September of 2014 and featured rappers from Chile, Germany, and North America like Prince Po, Declaime, and Eloquent, as well as his musical partners Retrogott, Dennis Da Menace, and Chinaski, among other Vinyl Digital artists. The completely instrumental Excursions followed in 2015. Brous One signed to Redefinition Records in early 2016 and delivered the full-length Consequences, which included collaborations with Sadat X, Damu the Fudgemunk, and Niko Soprano. A year later, Brous One issued Straight from the Basement, the tenth volume in Vinyl Digital's EXPEDITion series, as well as the third entry in his Cintos de Ritmo series. ~ Thom Jurek
