In 2004, singer-songwriter Camille Dalmais became one of the first vocalists for French covers band Nouvelle Vague and performed on their self-titled debut. ∙ Le Fil, her 2005 breakthrough album featuring the hit single “Ta Douleur,” has gone double-Platinum in France. ∙ She has recorded cover versions of Dead Kennedys’ “Too Drunk to F**k,” The Clash’s “The Guns of Brixton,” and Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols.” ∙ On her 2008 album, Music Hole, she used her body as a percussion instrument, and she continues to highlight live percussion in her concerts. ∙ The animated film Ratatouille features her song “Le Festin,” and she dubbed the voice of the character Collette for its French release. ∙ Starting with 2001’s Love Bites, she’s built a second career as an actress, appearing in the 2013 comedy On My Way and the animated fantasy The Little Prince.
