About Carlo Rustichelli
An astonishingly prolific film composer, Carlo Rustichelli’s credits include nearly 300 movies from the '50s, '60s and '70s. Born into a musical family, he studied composition at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome. He began working in films shortly before World War II, beginning with PAPA PER UNA NOTTE (1939), and resuming towards the end of the war with GRAN PREMIO (1944). Among the many film scores he composed are GIOVENTU PERDUTA (1947), directed by Pietro Germi; and the Oscar nominees, DIVORZIO ALL’ITALIANA (1961) and LE QUATTRO GIORNATE DI NAPOLI (1962). Rustichelli also arranged the music for AVANTI! (1972), and conducted the orchestra (even appearing on screen as a hillbilly bandleader) in TUTTI PER UNO... BOTTE PER TUTTI (1973).
