About Cliff Waldron
Progressive bluegrass multi-instrumentalist and singer Cliff Waldron made his name with the Page Valley Boys in the early 1960s. He subsequently teamed up with banjo player Bill Emerson, and scored a big hit with a bluegrass rendition of "Fox On The Run." Waldron went on to play with the Shenandoah Cut-Ups before forming the New Shades Of Grass, with whom he made several well-received albums into the mid '70s. He retired from music spending the next two decades working for the National Park Service, but returned to bluegrass in the mid '90s, teaming up with mandolin player Paul Williams and forming a new edition of the New Shades Of Grass, which toured and recorded into the 2000s.
