Fonky Family

Also known as La Fonky or La FF, Fonky Family were a French hip-hop crew that hailed from Marseille. The group emerged in 1994 and made its first appearance on wax on Akhenaton's 1995 debut solo album. Fonky Family made a full-length debut of their own with the album Si Dieu Veut in 1997. The album went gold. Two live EPs were released in 1999 and 2000. Art de Rue, Fonky Family's second album, finally hit stores in 2001. The group then took a break but reconvened in 2006 for its third album, Marginal Musique. It debuted on the charts at number one. ~ Chris True
