About Harry Hibbs
Singer Harry Hibbs began performing in 1968 in Toronto. His career carried on into the '80s, and resulted in nearly a dozen enjoyable albums, many singles, and a number of gold records. Hibbs was born in Newfoundland in 1944. When he was in his teens, he moved to Toronto and found work in a factory. It was a few years later before he landed his first real gigs playing at local clubs and the like. A popular performer, his contacts gained him spots on televised music shows. The next step was a show of his own, The Harry Hibbs Show. By then he also had a band of his own, the Caribou Showband. Along with his television show, Hibbs toured and spent time in the recording studio. ~ Charlotte Dillon
