About Herencia de Patrones
Herencia de Patrones are champions of the urban corrido genre and one of the voices amplifying the Rancho Humilde label’s sound. The L.A.-based imprint houses an impressive roster that includes some of the most well-known names in the movement like Apple Music Up Next artist Natanael Cano, Fuerza Regida, and LEGADO 7, and is largely responsible for skewing the traditional Mexican sound in a younger and grittier direction. Much like the other artists on Rancho Humilde, Herencia de Patrones have taken the flow and thematic quality of urban styles like hip-hop and melded them with the rustic, century-old tradition of narrative ballads, packing songs with references to drug use—as in 2018’s “Ladeando” (feat. Fuerza Regida) and 2019’s “El De La Codeina,” alongside Cano and Los Hijos de Garcia. The group originated in Yuba City, California in 2017 and played the underground circuit before gaining viral fame through YouTube streams of songs like 2018’s “Cosas de la Clica” and 2019’s “Es Difícil Ser un Santo,” which promote a lifestyle of flash and excess not unlike that depicted in hip-hop videos, albeit with a SoCal Mex-Am flavor. The group’s official full-length debut, Pa las Vibras (2019), only served to solidify Herencia de Patrones’ burgeoning status and place them squarely among the urban corrido genre’s strongest voices.
