About J. Holiday
With romantic music crafted for the ladies, singer J. Holiday became a contemporary R&B star in the late ’00s. • Born in Washington, D.C., J. Holiday grew up listening to R&B artists like Marvin Gaye, Boyz II Men, R. Kelly, and Jodeci. He got his first taste of the limelight when he performed at a ninth-grade talent show. • Holiday formed an R&B trio called 295 and moved to Atlanta with the group after high school. Following some brushes with fame that included a meeting with music mogul L.A. Reid, Holiday left to pursue a solo career. • In 2007, he released his debut album Back of My Lac', which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album. • Back of My Lac' features “Bed,” Holiday’s biggest hit to date. The single peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
