- Pearl, en référence au surnom donné à la légendaire chanteuse, est l’ultime album de celle dont la très courte carrière a pris fin brutalement en 1970, avec son décès par overdose, alors qu’elle n’avait que 27 ans. Cet album, sorti à titre posthume, témoigne de toute l’intensité de l’icône qui maniait aussi bien les codes du rock que ceux du blues, du folk et de la soul. Ne ménageant pas sa voix, elle laisse ici une collection de grands classiques, dont « Me and Bobby McGee » et « Mercedes Benz ».
