About K.S. Rhoads
Nashville singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist K.S. Rhoads emerged in 2008 with a versatile sound that draws from a wide array of influences, including autumnal folk, classical, rock, and widescreen pop. Since releasing his debut album, Dead Language, Rhoads has had his music featured in both television and film and has written, performed, and produced for a wide-ranging cast of notable artists. He released his third studio effort, When You Close Your Eyes, Do You See a White Jesus?, in 2020. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Rhoads spent his formative years moving from city to city before landing in Fort Myers, Florida at the age of 15. It was there he began focusing on music, becoming proficient on bass, piano, and harmonica. After graduating from Texas Christian University he relocated to Nashville, where he refined his evocative pop/rock sound. His debut album, Dead Language, mostly recorded in Rhoads' East Nashville living room and produced by Rhoads, Lij Shaw, and Robin Eaton, was released on Alex the Great Recordings in 2008. Dark, conceptual, and sad, but filled with a survivor's sense of hope, Dead Language helped establish Rhoads both at home and nationally. Songs from Dead Language and his 2013 sophomore effort, The Wilderness, have since appeared in numerous commercials, films, and television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, Transparent, and Pretty Little Liars. In 2017 he scored and arranged a ballet ("Seven Deadly Sins") with the Nashville Symphony at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and in 2020 he released his third long-player, the politically and socially-charged When You Close Your Eyes, Do You See a White Jesus? ~ James Christopher Monger
