About Kevin Lyttle

Soca singer Kevin Lyttle scored big with his aptly titled 2003 debut single, “Turn Me On,” which excited legions of fans across the globe. • Lyttle hails from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent. He studied electronic engineering in college and worked as a radio announcer and customs officer before hitting the big time. • Using money he’d earned from his day jobs, Lyttle recorded two songs—one being the soca ballad “Turn Me On,” which interpolates “All My Love,” a 1998 song by the American R&B group 112. • “Turn Me On” became a hit across the Caribbean and eventually blew up globally, reaching No. 2 in the UK and No. 4 in the US, where it was helped along by a remix featuring Jamaican dancehall artist Spragga Benz. Lyttle’s self-titled debut album cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. • In 2007, after parting company with Atlantic Records, Lyttle formed his own label, Tarakon Records. He released two additional albums—2008’s Fyah and 2012’s Carnival—which failed to match the success of his debut. • Lyttle and Latin artist Ñengo Flow appear on DJ and producer EZ El Ezeta’s 2016 single “Midnight,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart.
