Larry Hernández

Mexican-American singer-songwriter Larry Hernández, who began composing Sinaloense ballads at age eight, gained international fame as a narcocorrido singer and reality TV star. ∙ While still in high school, Hernández began his professional career playing drums in a Sinaloense band called Los Amables del Norte, which gave him the confidence to embark on a solo career. ∙ Recorded in a single day, his 2009 Platinum album, 16 Narco Corridos, elevated him to the top tier of norteño-banda singers. ∙ In 2010, Larrymania entered Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart at No. 2, spawning the popular Mexican reality series of the same name that chronicles the norteño superstar’s daily life. ∙ He won New Latin Artist of the Year at the 2010 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and followed it up in 2011 with Mexican Albums Artist of the Year. ∙ The Premios de la Radio awards show, honoring Regional Mexican artists, crowned him Social Media Royalty in 2017 for his commanding online presence.
