About Los Rojos

Los Rojos is a norteño group formed in Monterrey in 2008 by brothers Alexis, Ángel, and Antonio Ruiz. The trio played local clubs and social events, gathering attention because of their youthful, modern look -- at odds with the genre's traditional dress code -- and by having bassist Ángel play his eye-catching "bajo-bass," which combines bajo sexto and bass into a one-of-a-kind instrument. Eventually signed by Sarco Records, Los Rojos released their debut album Comienza la Dinastía in 2014, followed by Deja de Hacer la Guerra in 2016. All the while, the group's profile kept on growing, thanks to a string of successful radio singles, often accompanied by inventive videos as well as by constant touring and live appearances. In 2019, Los Rojos returned with the Ni Juez ni Parte EP, their first release for Fonovisa/Universal. ~ Mariano Prunes
