In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid, I loved playing around with a small sample keyboard and grew up listening to Deep Forest. This blend inspired the music I create today. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Tuyuka” Except for a snare layer and the bass, every sound in the song comes from recordings I made in the Amazon rainforest, like the rest of the album. I manipulated these to create the music you hear. The vocals are from the Tuyuka tribe, who hosted me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I traveled to the Amazon rainforest to create an album from the sounds I recorded there, an experience that has been both enlightening and deeply inspiring, while Recently, I had the honor of debuting my new live set at Melkweg, Amsterdam.
