In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory was listening to a cassette tape of George Winston's December on a Sony Walkman as I rode on the school bus to second grade. I was struck how big the sound was for only a solo piano and mesmerized by the sustained tones. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? George Winston, December Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here Dark Side s what can happen with simple instruments and instrumentation, beautifully played, performed and mixed. December was my first experiences with deep and resonant sound. The opening drones of Shine On... shaped me as an artist and composer Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “At the Cascading Rapids” This song captures and it's companion, Agawa Rock, on Sault, capture an emotional sense of place better than other recording I've done. I love all my children equally, but the tracks on Sault stand out above everything else. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing to a packed cafe/restaurant in the East Village/NYC of a hundred or so people and at the conclusion of our set, my partner and myself received an extended standing ovation. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I love to perform my work in some of the great concert halls of the world. I would love to regularly be releasing music with ECM Recordings, produced by Manfred Eicher I would love to perform ambient guitar as part of the Tord Gustavsen Quintet.
