Misha Tsiganov

A leading New York jazz pianist, the Russian-born Misha Tsiganov is a daring improviser with a sound steeped in the post-bop tradition. He first garnered wider attention in the 2000s and has played with artists like Hendrik Meurkens, Myron Walden, and Joe Chambers. His own albums -- like 2014's The Artistry of the Standard, 2018's Playing with the Wind, and 2022's Misha's Wishes -- feature his adept small group with trumpeter Alex Sipiagin and Seamus Blake. In 2024, Tsiganov delivered Painter of Dreams, which featured Sipiagin and guests including saxophonist Chris Potter.
