Moon B

Moon B is the alias of Wes Gray, a synth funk-inspired gear head and producer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He debuted on the Peoples Potential Unlimited label in 2012 with an untitled album; a vinyl edition was issued on PPU, while Gray self-released the cassette and digital download versions. Strictly instrumental, groove-oriented, and dusty sounding, it resembled the work of a Dâm-Funk understudy. Shorter releases for PPU, Going Good, and Omega Supreme followed in 2013. In 2014, Gray issued II, a set with more of a house influence -- seemingly inspired by Larry Heard and Theo Parrish -- relative to the debut album. ~ Andy Kellman
