Philip Higham

About Philip Higham

Cellist Philip Higham is active both as a solo player and as principal cello with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Early in his career, he had an impressive run in competitions, taking top prizes at three major international events. Higham is a major draw at festivals both in Britain and beyond, and he has given recitals as far afield as Istanbul. He has made several recordings. His recording debut came in 2013 with an album of Benjamin Britten's Suites for solo cello. In 2024, he was heard on tenor Robin Tritschler's album Songs for Peter Pears.
