With his sing-song flow and string of early mixtapes, LA rapper RJmrLA built a local following before emerging as one of the West Coast’s rising stars. • His 2013 debut mixtape, O.M.M.I.O. ("On My Mama, I'm On"), was hosted and partially produced by hitmaker Mustard, who’d become a steady collaborator. • Still billed as RJ, the rapper guested on three tracks on Mustard’s 2014 debut album, 10 Summers. • In 2017, RJ became the first artist signed to Mustard and LA rapper YG’s 400 Summers label. That year, he dropped the full-length MrLa, featuring heavy hitters like YG, ScHoolboy Q, and Ty Dolla $ign. • The rapper again linked up with Mustard for the 2017 joint project The Ghetto. • RJmrLA’s introspective 2019 debut album, On God, includes features from Snoop Dogg, The Game, and Young Thug, among others.
