About The Loud Family
A band that fused clever melodies and indelible pop hooks with adventurous arrangements and aggressive use of editing and electronic manipulation, the Loud Family was the vehicle Scott Miller created for his songs after the breakup of his previous band, Game Theory. While Game Theory refined their sound in a bid for greater acceptance late in their career, the Loud Family allowed Miller to explore a more uncompromised approach, putting their edgy side front and center. Their debut album, 1992's Plants and Birds and Rocks and Things, struck a careful balance between the tuneful and the experimental, while 1996's Interbabe Concern put its focus on the sharp angles of the songs. After their breakup, Miller staged a one-off Loud Family reunion for a collaborative album with Anton Barbeau, 2006's What If It Works?
