About The Movielife
The Movielife is a pop punk/melodic hardcore outfit from Long Island. Formed in 1997, the punk revivalist, hardcore-influenced quintet soon went from basement shows to self-releasing their first LP, It's Go Time. This Time Next Year was issued in 2000, followed a year later by the Movielife Has a Gambling Problem EP, which was tinged with a more pop-punk sound. After 2003's Forty Hour Train Back to Penn appeared, they decided to part ways, with members forming I Am the Avalanche and Nightmare of You. It wasn't until Christmas 2014 that the Movielife were resurrected, with tours of the U.S., U.K., and Europe following in 2015 and 2016. Composed of their familiar tricks -- gritty, palm-muted guitar riffs, huge singalong choruses, and illustrative lyrics -- the band's fourth album, Cities in Search of a Heart, arrived in 2017.
