One of the longest-running shows in the Anticon avant-garde hip-hop set, recording since the mid- to late '90s, Themselves cobble oddly compelling compositions with a lo-fi sheen. MC Doseone, also of Clouddead, spins warped, oblong rhymes that often get lost in producer Jel’s backgrounds, which can range from standard funk to calliope. Musical chameleons, the pair has frequently teamed up with German indie rockers the Notwist to transform into 13 & God. ~ Jason Thurston
