About Tired Lion
Australian outfit Tired Lion channel the essence of '90s alt-rock through their guitar-driven, gutsy blasts of indie rock. The brainchild of vocalist and guitarist Sophie Hopes and guitarist Matt Tanner, the duo had originally joined forces while still at school, but the addition of drummer Ethan Darnell and bassist Nick Vasey bolstered their sound. 2013 saw the release of their debut EP, All We Didn't Know, and the group became regulars in their local scene in Perth. The follow-up EP, Figurine, appeared in 2015 and featured the track "I Don't Think You Like Me," which had helped the band earn themselves a considerable fan base. That same year, national radio station Triple J awarded the band their Unearthed Artist award. The following year saw the group tour with fellow Aussies Spiderbait and Violent Soho, as well as heading to Europe to play a handful of summer festivals and headline dates. The group recorded their debut album in 2017. Produced by Luke Boerdam from Violent Soho, the resulting record, Dumb Days, was issued in the September and debuted on the official Australian charts. ~ Rich Wilson
