Young Martino

Blending hip-hop, jazz, and soul, Puerto Rican pianist/songwriter Jose Martín “Young Martino” Velázquez worked on more than 100 songs during his first three years as a producer. ∙ As the DJ for Puerto Rican rapper Alvaro Díaz, Young Martino performed in 2014 for a crowd of 18,000 people while opening for Calle 13 in Mexico City. ∙ In 2016, NPR’s Alt.Latino program anointed Young Martino as one of six fledgling producers “who shape Latino identity with sound.” ∙ A remix with Bad Bunny, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam of the Young Martino-produced 2017 single “Te Boté” sold more than four million copies and topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart in 2018. ∙ He was nominated as Producer of the Year at the 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
