The Swedish mezzo has sung an astoundingly broad repertoire, always with a winning sympathy for the style and message. She can sing Monteverdi and Mozart, Bach and Berlioz, and brings an equally graceful appoach to song, oratorio, and chanson. She even made a memorable foray into Swedish pop. Her grasp of languages makes every role idiomatic, and she has taken great care of her voice, giving her a long career. A frequent collaborator with John Eliot Gardiner, the singer has made some magnificent recordings including Haydn, Mozart, Zemlinsky, and Kurt Weill. A superb recitalist, she has also recorded some superb song programs with her regular pianist, Bengt Forsberg.
