Bicep love to flex their house-music muscle, but they never beat listeners over the head; the results are always slinky, never slamming. The Northern Irish duo started out in the early ‘00s with a blog for dance classics, and you can hear those old-school roots in the Detroit-inspired synths of “Circles” and the skippy garage of “You.” They're stylistically omnivorous: “Vision of Love” takes piano house into the deep end, “Glue” weds rolling breakbeats to ambient trance, and “Just” flips ‘80s electro grooves and hypnotic vocals into after-hours fare. No matter the mood or tempo, their analog tones are unusually enveloping.
