Using her collaborations with dance legends Faithless as a springboard, Dido launched her solo career in 1999 with the album No Angel. An effervescent collection of melodic downtempo, the album received a huge boost when Eminem sampled "Thank You" for his song "Stan," which led to No Angel's runaway success. With her voice synonymous with mellow electronic pop, Dido released Life for Rent in 2003. The album featured the signature hit "White Flag," which won Best British Single at the 2004 Brit Awards.
