Parisian rapper Georgio followed his successful EP releases with the 2015 debut album Bleu Noir. Part of a pioneering group of French rappers who take a more personal, revealing look at their life experiences, he integrates unexpected elements into his work—such as samples of classical French music and elements of boom-bap beats. In “Rêveur (Pour Anatole)”, the production builds on a moving guitar riff, a heavy beat and a heartfelt chorus. Aside from rap songs, his album contains instrumentals that use rock beats, as in “Héros”, with its hard drive and fat, bassy synths.
