Kid Cudi: The Man On the Moon III Interview
Kid Cudi fans rejoice: The man on the moon is once again at peace. “The whole flow of my life is like so in tune with like everything that I want it to be,” the Cleveland-originating MC tells Apple Music host Zane Lowe. “Everything's in place. And I'm happy, you know?” It’s reassuring to hear because it hasn’t always been easy to know. Cudi’s latest album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, is his first in four years. He’s been known to pop up on social media from time to time—remember when he told the story of how he ended up onstage during MGMT’s 2014 Coachella performance?—but he’s mostly kept to himself between official projects. According to Cudi, it’s because he was refocusing to be able to deliver a project like Man on the Moon III. “I truly believe that my heart is in the light and that's who I am,” he says. “As long as I keep focus on the mission, write music that helps kids, pushing myself to make new experiences and try new things and be a better artist and a better man in their life, whether it's to my girlfriend or to my baby mom or to my mother or to my sister—[I’m] just trying to be better.” Watch the interview where Kid Cudi talks more about working with Kanye, breaks down Man on the Moon III, and tells Zane about the benefits of taking a break from making music.
