Parov Stelar is the stage name of producer/DJ Marcus Füreder, adopted to suit the sample-heavy tracks he made in which he warms the metronomic frost of electronic music with the rolling heat of early jazz. This new music (collected here) was dubbed electro swing, and it took him out of Austria and into recording studios with, among others, Lady Gaga, Bryan Ferry and Lana Del Rey. He also started to use a live band to recreate those samples so he could tour, and fast became a festival regular, especially once his 2010 signature tune “Booty Swing” had started gathering attention all over the world.
