Prurient Essentials

A pillar of the harsh noise community, Dominick Fernow has made sizable impacts with his solo act Prurient and his record label Hospital Productions. Becoming deeply entrenched in the gothic side of experimental music, in recent years Fernow's sound has seen a transformation from intense feedback and screaming to a more distinct, industrial feel, as illustrated by his stint as a live member of new wave nostalgists Cold Cave. In his later work as Prurient and under a wide variety of aliases, Fernow's moody, more beat-oriented music sounds matured, and as full of dark possibilities as ever.
