Rock band Quruli melds guitars with sounds ranging from dance beats to brass. When the Kyoto outfit came together in the mid-'90s, their midtempo rock centered around the poetic and emotional lyrics of lead singer Shigeru Kishida. They've expanded their sound over the years, varying the texture of their catalog with a floor-ready electronic kick on catchy songs such as “World's End Supernova.” Quruli continue to experiment with adding new elements to their mix, including horn accents on hooky pop cuts like “Liberty & Gravity.”
