Best known to classic rock fans as the only person to sing with Led Zeppelin—she guested on "The Battle of Evermore"—folk-rock singer/songwriter Sandy Denny was, at least in her native England, so much more than that. There, she was known as "The Lady," the queen of folk music, for her incredible work with Fairport Convention and Fotheringay, as well as her '70s solo recordings. As dark and moody as her contemporary Nick Drake, Denny's work was more electric, utilizing a full band to complement her emotive voice. Denny sadly passed away in 1978 following an accident in her parents' home.
