From the moment he first entered a recording studio in the early '90s, Troy Cassar-Daley appeared to many the future of Australian country music. He was also the latest incarnation in a long tradition of aboriginal artists turning to country to help express their spiritual connection to their native land. Since his first appearance at the Tamworth Country Music Festival at age 11, Cassar-Daley has won dozens of Golden Guitars in the town's annual country music awards.
