We believe that regeneration in Latin America is the best investment opportunity of our generation: all good investments must blend long-term fundamental value with an undervalued opportunity. Only those with a holistic or systemic perspective (as opposed to a linear or reductionistic perspective) can see its potential. Traditionally, the financial world has not known how to value natural capital and thus it liquidates natural capital to generate financial capital, but we are in a moment of change. We need to get out of the mindset of scarcity and enter into one of abundance, where financial returns are not the end, but rather the means to generate more social and environmental value.    LARIS will be a space to unlearn old investment paradigms and adopt new ones, in an environment of collaboration between investors, leaders and regenerative entrepreneurs. The objective is to build long-term relationships and generate a common understanding about regenerative investment in Latin America.  A conversation that is currently super innovative but also ancient wisdom, is the "new" perspective of place-based investments and Bioregionalism. This approach seeks to respond to the global poly-crisis from a local and tangible perspective. Instead of investing by sectors or industries, we invest based on the territory and its ecosystem. It's a paradigm shift that's already gaining traction in the climate finance and regenerative investment community. Bioregionalism also questions the logic of large-scale growth and instead proposes deeper, more transformative long-term impacts. It not only proposes a new form of investment, but a different way of understanding development and governance, recognizing the interdependence and eco-dependence of human communities. Bioregionalism emerges as an alternative based on regeneration and local resilience.
