Here’s exciting news for you! 📢 UNAM master’s students can NOW apply for one of five Erasmus+ KA1 International Credit Mobility (ICM) Scholarships to conduct a 3-month research internship at UG in the Netherlands! 🌟 Exciting New Partnership Alert! 🌟 We are delighted to announce a new collaboration between the Ubbo Emmius Foundation(UEF) with our strategic partner Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)! 🎉 They together will provide a one-time allowance of €1,500 to support newly admitted Double Degree PhD candidates registered at UNAM and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, assisting with the extra costs of their international mobility 🌍🤝  📢 The pilot call is now open - funding is available for the first ten students! Selection prioritizes students facing specific socio-economic challenges. The launch of the UEF-UNAM fund was emphasized in the Strategic Collaboration Agenda, signed by then-UNAM Rector Enrique Graue and UG President Jouke de Vries during a visit to Groningen in April 2023 (happy picture below!). We are deeply grateful to #UEF and #UNAM for their generous support, enabling our collaboration to grow and thrive. 🙏 🎓 The UNAM-UG Double Degree PhD program offers students the chance to graduate from both UNAM and Groningen, fostering enduring connections between researchers from both institutions. 🎉 Wow! the International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM) will receive €4.6 million to sponsor four more student cohorts as of September 2025! 🚀 We are extremely happy and proud that #IMIM at the UMCG has again been selected as a prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (#EMJM)! 🏆 IMIM is a unique programme that focuses on the interfaces between basic research, clinical investigation and commercial application. 🧬🩺💼 IMIM was conceived in 2015 at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences - University of Groningen the EMJM excellence label for the first time in 2016. The IMIM network includes four degree-awarding institutions in Europe. In addition to University of Groningen as the coordinator, these are Heidelberg University, Uppsala University and now also University of Tartu. Additionally, four of our amazing partners in #Mexico, #Colombia, #Brazil and #Chile have been (associated) partners from the start of our EMJM experience and we are delighted to connect this master with our #PhD collaboration. The #E+ programme 2021-2027 established that EMJM full partnership implies being able to award the degree based on the joint curriculum. Erasmus+ award alert! Congratulations to five amazing master’s students from our Partner Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA) in Colombia. They will carry out 3-month research internships at our Faculty of Science and Engineering - University of Groningen Faculty of Economics and Business - University of Groningen, and Campus Fryslân - University of Groningen. The aim of their stay is to identify research complementarity and PhD projects that support sustainable collaboration between our institutions.
